Sites for new Nuclear Plants

Eleven possible locations for new nuclear power plants have been announced. Nine have already housed nuclear plants. The asterisked ones are fresh sites.

Hinkley Point
Bradwell

Members of the public are being asked for their views.

This site's view is that nuclear power should be encouraged, for three reasons:

1. It will improve the security of our energy supply.

2. It will conserve fossil fuels for future generations.

3. It is a much cheaper option than wind, other renewables, or 'carbon capture'.

Nuclear electricity supplies 34% of the EU's electricity. The percentages range from 80% in France to about 4% in Holland.
