The world has not warmed
for fifteen years

New data from the UK Met Office shows that there has been no global warming for 15 years.

The graph shows the global annual average temperature since 1997.

Between 1997and 2011 the average global temperature has remained constant; 14.44 +/- 0.16 deg C (2 standard deviations.)

It is now time for 'carbon mitigation' and 'climate change' policies to be abandoned. We have paid enough.

There is no evidence that man-made carbon dioxide emissions cause global temperatures to increase.

The available evidence (see, for example, Al Gore's graph ) shows that carbon dioxide increases follow temperature rises and therefore cannot be their cause.

The money saved should be used to solve real problems.

We could begin with: investment in coping with water shortages, more research in growing crops with reduced irrigation (some work into this has begun at East Malling), producing more food locally, improving the insulation of older properties, investing in the extraction of UK shale gas, and keeping our 'new nuclear' policy on track.
